On July 3, 2022, the Law School of Southeast University held a review meeting for the Digital Law of the second-level disciplines outside the new catalogue of Southeast University. The review panel consisted of Deng Hui, President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Yue Caishen, Vice President of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Ji Weidong, Dean of the Institute of Chinese Law and Society of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huang Wenyi, Dean of the Law School of Chinese Min University, Zuo Weimin, Dean of the Law School of Sichuan University, Ma Changshan, Dean of the Digital Rule of Law Research Institute of East China University of Political Science and Law, and Liu Yanhong, Dean of the School of Criminal Justice of China University of Political Science and Law. Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University, Wang Lusheng, Deputy Director of the Social Science Department of Southeast University (presiding over the work), and relevant teachers of the Digital Law team of Southeast University participated in the review meeting.
The meeting began with a speech by Jin Shi, Vice President of Southeast University, who introduced the achievements of teaching and scientific research in the field of digital law in recent years to the experts, and expressed gratitude to the experts for participating in the Digital Law secondary discipline review meeting on behalf of the school. Subsequently, Professor Wang Lusheng introduced the basic situation of declaring the second-level discipline of digital law to the experts of the review team, and reported from several aspects, such as the basic situation of the discipline, the necessity and feasibility of setting up the discipline, the training plan of discipline talents, and the planning of discipline construction.
After discussion and deliberation by the expert group, it was unanimously agreed that in the digital age, it is necessary and urgent to set up a second-level discipline of digital law. In the face of the characteristics of transverse and interdisciplinary disciplines, the Law School of Southeast University has set up a solid foundation and obvious advantages in the second-level discipline of digital law after long-term discipline construction and talent training; The logic of the demonstration plan is clear, the path is perfect, the training plan is scientific and reasonable, it is operational, it takes into account the disciplinary characteristics of law, computer science and economics, and meets the requirements of the construction of secondary disciplines.
The independent establishment of second-level disciplines is an important measure for Southeast University to further promote the reform of the postgraduate training mechanism and further improve the quality of education. The convening of the Digital Law second-level discipline review meeting will play a positive role in further improving the discipline structure, integrating disciplinary resources, and highlighting the characteristics and advantages of the discipline. In the next step, the law school will complete the follow-up declaration work in accordance with the relevant provisions of the school's additional second-level disciplines.
