In order to do a good job in declaring the projects of the National Social Science Foundation of 2023 and further improve the quality of project declarations, in accordance with the work plan of the Social Science Division and the College, the Law School of Southeast University held the first round of the validation meeting of the National Social Science Foundation of 2023 in the conference room on the fourth floor on February 16, 2023. Wang Lusheng, Director of Social Science Division of Southeast University, Ouyang Benqi, Dean of Law School, Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean of Law School, Liu Qichuan, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Law School, and Shan Pingji, Vice Dean of Law School, attended this meeting and participated in the validation as evaluation experts. Professor Wang Jianwen and Professor Song Xiao from Nanjing University, Professor Wang Jinyuan, Professor Gong Xianghe and Professor Liu Lianjun from Southeast University were invited as members of the expert panel to give guidance. The meeting was hosted by Vice President Xiong Zhanglin.

First of all, Dean Ouyang Benqi extended a warm welcome to the leaders, experts and scholars, and introduced the overall situation of the National Social Science Foundation projects of the Law School in 2022. Director Wang Lusheng pointed out that he hoped the teachers who intended to declare the National Social Science Foundation projects in 2023 would make early preparations, learn more and seek more advice in the demonstration meeting, and strive to achieve a new breakthrough in the establishment of projects.

Then, the declared teachers reported on their background, framework structure, research ideas and other basic information. The evaluation experts combed through the declaration materials in detail, listened carefully to the report of the declared teachers, and gave specific comments on modification from the aspects of topic selection, content, logic and framework. The experts proposed to have problem awareness, should focus on specific issues and then dig deeper, the selection of topics should also be close to the Chinese discourse system, highlighting the logic and feasibility, and put forward constructive comments and suggestions with the teachers' research directions.

Finally, President Ouyang Benqi summarized the meeting, proposed and elaborated the three elements of the title theory, asked that the polished topic selection should not be closed door, the declared teachers should communicate more with experts and scholars for advice, think about the topic selection in a new context, and strive to produce a new topic in their own research field. They should think about the topic in a new context and strive for fruitful results in their own research fields.

This seminar has broadened the ideas of the declared teachers and provided them with valuable suggestions for revision, which will help to further clarify the research content and strengthen the research foundation. At the same time, the Law School will continue to pay attention to the revision of the declared topic, provide accurate services in the whole process, assist the declared teachers to polish the declaration, effectively improve the quality of the project declaration and increase the success rate of the project.
