On the afternoon of March 1, 2023, Southeast University College of Law held a New Year's work meeting in 2023, which was attended by all the faculty and staff of the College of Law. The theme of the meeting was Implementing the Seventeen Articles of the Central Government and Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of First-class Disciplines. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mao Huixi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College.

Professor Ouyang Benqi, Dean of the School of Law, gave a keynote report, summarizing the highlights of the work in 2022 and putting forward the work plan for 2023. Dean Ouyang summarized the work in 2022 from the aspects of discipline construction, scientific research of the college, faculty, think tank construction and talent cultivation.

In terms of discipline construction, after more than ten years of construction, the Law School has ranked among the top in the country in the discipline of law.

In terms of research projects, the School closed one national key R&D project in 2022 and hosted one new national key R&D project, becoming the only law school that has hosted two national key R&D projects. In addition, the law school hosted one major project of the National Social Science Foundation, one key project of the National Social Science Foundation, one general project of the National Social Science Foundation, one late-stage project of the National Social Science Foundation, and two projects of the National Self-Science Foundation.

In terms of scientific research awards, we won 5 awards of the 17th Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Jiangsu Province, including 1 first-class award, 3 second-class awards and 1 third-class award. This is the best achievement in history.

In terms of faculty construction, one new national talent was added, and one second-level teacher, one professor, four associate professors, and two associate researchers were promoted.

After reviewing and summarizing the work achievements in 2022, President Ouyang focused on the work plan of the college in 2023, and set the theme of the college's work in 2023 as comprehensive improvement. President Ouyang led the audience to study the Opinions on Strengthening Legal Education and Legal Theory Research in the New Era (Seventeen Articles of Law) issued by the Office of the Central Government and the State Council, as well as President Huang Ru of Southeast University's Academic First, Student First, Teacher as the Foundation, Moral Education, Service to the Nation, Breakthrough to the Frontier. He also reviewed the Four-One ideas of one discipline, one group of talents, one journal and one building proposed by Dean Liu Yanhong, and then put forward the future ideas of the Law School Work Ideas:

Dean Ouyang elaborated on the specific plans and measures of the future law school in the areas of discipline improvement, organized scientific research, high-end faculty building, leading talents training, performance reform, and rule by law.

Vice Dean Shan Pingji, Vice Dean Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Secretary and Vice Dean Liu Qichuan, Director Gao Ge of the Practice Teaching Center, and Executive Director Gong Xianghe of the Southeast University Institute of Human Rights made summaries and plans for their own work respectively.

We will continue to work hard and make progress with vigor. The journey is long, but there is only struggle! In the future, all the teachers of Southeast University Law School will continue to maintain the state of daring and daring, adhere to the new liberal arts philosophy of cross-cutting, team-based and practice-oriented, implement the 17 Opinions of the Central Government, and do a good job of cultivating first-class talents, academic innovation and discipline construction.
