On March 4 and 5, 2023, Ouyang Benqi, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University Law School, and Chen Hongbing, professor and doctoral supervisor of Law School, were invited to give lectures to Lianyungang People's Procuratorate respectively. The young prosecutors selected by Lianyungang Procuratorate to participate in the Ninth Provincial Top Ten Public Prosecutors and Provincial Excellent Public Prosecutors Business Competition and two prosecutors from Yili, Xinjiang attended the study.
Professor Ouyang Benqi gave a lecture on the concept and method of criminal law interpretation in the Internet era. During the lecture, Professor Ouyang explained the hot and difficult issues of current cybercrime from three aspects: the necessity of criminal law interpretation, the method of criminal law interpretation in the network era, and the characterization of cyber financial misappropriation, from the theoretical source to the application of judicial practice in different dimensions. Prof. Ouyang Benqi introduced to the participants the ideas and methods of identifying new types of cybercrime cases in easy-to-understand language, which aroused the thoughts and resonance of the young prosecutors present.
Prof. Chen Hongbing gave a lecture on Analysis of 20 Common Crimes of Economic Crimes. During the lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing gave a comprehensive and in-depth explanation of 20 common economic crimes, taking the difficulties and misunderstandings in the determination of crimes in practice as the starting point. At the same time, Prof. Chen Hongbing combined many specific cases with vivid and simple language, and made a profound analysis of the application of relevant economic crimes in depth, so that the participants had a newer, deeper and more comprehensive understanding of economic crimes.
Prof. Ouyang and Prof. Chen gave detailed arguments on the difficult issues in judicial practice with full enthusiasm and meticulous logic, and the lectures were informative and comprehensive, fully demonstrating their solid and profound theoretical knowledge of criminal law and rich practical experience. During the lecture, the two professors also interacted with the participants, which stimulated the learning enthusiasm of young prosecutors.
The response to the lecture was strong, and the young prosecutors said that listening to the two teachers' class was a brainstorming session, which was informative, thought-provoking and beneficial. The lecture was a complete success!
