Prof. Chen Hongbing was invited to Anhui Runtian Law Firm to give a public lecture on the topic of "Understanding the application of key crimes of economic crimes".

On March 11, 2023, Chen Hongbing, professor and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University Law School, was invited to Anhui Runtian Law Firm to give a special public lecture on Understanding the application of key crimes of economic crimes. The lecture was hosted by Anhui Runtian Law Firm, and more than one hundred and thirty lawyers and public security judicial officers from Shanghai, Nanjing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Ganzhou, Jinan, Beijing and other parts of China attended the lecture.

Before the lecture started, Mr. Shan Yucheng, the director of the management committee of Anhui Runtian Law Firm, delivered a speech, expressing his thanks and welcome to Professor Chen Hongbing and the attendees.

Around the topic of this lecture, Professor Chen Hongbing selected 30 common crimes in economic crimes, including production and sale of counterfeit products, obstruction of credit card management, credit card fraud and other key crimes. In the six-and-a-half-hour long lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing combined actual cases and explained in depth the constitutive elements, applicable conditions and some difficult controversial issues of these crimes, and put forward many unique views, which made the audience have a clearer and deeper understanding of economic crimes. While explaining the key charges, Prof. Chen Hongbing also emphasized the difficulty of evidence collection and trial in economic crime cases, and pointed out that while strengthening the work of evidence collection, attention should also be paid to the application of criminal law principles and rules of evidence in the trial process to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the parties and judicial justice, and to avoid the occurrence of wrongful verdicts and wrongful cases.

Finally, Professor Chen gave advice and expectations to the audience. He hoped that legal practitioners should continuously improve their professionalism and business level, closely follow the legal changes and judicial practice, and handle economic crime cases in a more accurate, fair and legal way to maintain social justice and stability of the legal system.

The lecture was insightful and fascinating. Prof. Chen Hongbing's profound insight and rich experience made the audience understand more clearly the essence and characteristics of economic crimes, and also provided valuable learning and communication opportunities for legal practitioners!
