Our college held a summing up and exchange meeting on the experience of all-English international competition

At 13:30 on April 3, 2023, an exchange meeting was held in the conference room on the fourth floor of the Law School of Southeast University to summarize the experience of the All-English International Academic Competition (Trade Zhong Cup and Jessup). Prof. Ouyang Benqi, Dean of Southeast University College of Law, Prof. Xiong Zhanglin, Vice Dean, Prof. Liu Qichuan, Deputy Secretary and Vice Dean, Ms. Yu Wenjie and Ms. Zhang Yue, the instructors of the competition, and 10 students who participated in the competition attended this meeting. The meeting was hosted by Ms. Yu Wenjie. Ms. Yu welcomed and thanked all the leaders, teachers and students for coming.
President Ouyang Benqi spoke first. President Ouyang affirmed the excellent achievements of the two events and expressed his gratitude to the teachers and students who participated in the competition. We hope that the two teams can fully exchange their experiences and carry on the spirit of passing on and helping, so as to lay a foundation for better ranking in the future.
Next, Professor Xiong Zhanglin spoke. Mr. Xiong congratulated and affirmed the achievements of the students in the competition, and said that he would strive to mobilize more graduate students to participate in the competition and provide more support resources to escort the future events.
Then Professor Liu Qichuan spoke. Mr. Liu highly recognized the positive and tenacious spirit of the teachers and students in the competition, and expressed his determination to fight for higher awards in the future, and hoped that the students would continue to make efforts to pass on the spirit of the competition and get even better results.
Guo Shuchi, a 2020 undergraduate student, reported on behalf of the team of the Trade Zhong Cup. She firstly expressed her gratitude to the college for its continuous support and care as well as the attendance of all the leaders. Secondly, she introduced the team's participation in the online competition, the Trade Cup, and the Vis East Moot competition in Hong Kong. The team achieved the 36th place in the Trade Cup and the first place in the winning prize, and represented Southeast University College of Law to compete in Hong Kong for the first time, which was very rewarding. Finally, she summarized the lessons learned during the 5 months of preparation, pointed out that the team still needs to strengthen in terms of professional knowledge learning, member cooperation and fluency of expression, and shared the notes for offline participation in Hong Kong.
Undergraduates Cao Haiying, Ge Yanying, Li Yixiao and Tan Yun from the Class of 2020 reported on behalf of the Jessup team. They introduced the composition of the team and the competition. The team won the third prize in the domestic competition in Jessup, which tied the best result of the law school in previous years. On behalf of the college, Dean Ouyang said that he would make adjustments to the curriculum and venue arrangements as soon as possible, and try to eliminate the hardware difficulties for the students.
Finally, Dean Ouyang summarized the meeting, pointing out that in addition to the tactical summary and inheritance, the college would also make changes and adjustments in strategy to match the needs of the team teachers and students, so as to provide the maximum conditions for the students to prepare for the competition, and encourage the students to inherit the spirit and experience of the competition, so as to help the players in future competitions to take less detours and get into shape as soon as possible. Finally, Dean Ouyang once again expressed his gratitude to the teachers and students for their hard work and excellent achievements, and wished Southeast University College of Law another record high.
We hope that the team of Southeast University College of Law will sum up their experience and continue to work hard, and we hope that the competition will continue to be brilliant next year!
