Professor Chen Hongbing was appointed as "Special Expert Advisor" of Beijing Dacheng (Jinan) Law Firm and was invited to give a lecture on "Interpretation and Application of 20 Commonly Used Criminal Law Offenses".

On April 8, 2023, invited by Li Yanguang of Beijing Dacheng (Jinan) Law Firm, Chen Hongbing, a professor and doctoral supervisor of Southeast University Law School, went to Beijing Dacheng (Jinan) Law Firm to give a lecture on Interpretation and Application of 20 Commonly Used Criminal Law Offenses. The lecture was hosted by Beijing Dacheng (Jinan) Law Firm, and nearly 100 people attended the lecture, including members of Dacheng Jinan Management Committee and law firm colleagues, as well as theoretical scholars, practical experts and senior lawyers from the same industry in Shandong Province. The lecture was hosted by Mr. Li Yanguang.
Before the lecture, Beijing Dacheng (Jinan) Law Firm held a grand appointment ceremony for the special expert advisor, and Dacheng Jinan Senior Partner and Executive Director Mr. Bai Le Ping awarded the certificate of special expert advisor to Professor Chen Hongbing. At the appointment ceremony, Prof. Chen Hongbing expressed his willingness to do his best to actively promote the study of criminal law in China, and hoped to contribute more to the construction of the rule of law together with all colleagues in Dacheng Jinan under the joint collaboration of various teams.
In the morning session, Professor Chen combined practical cases and gave an in-depth explanation on the understanding and application of common crimes such as production and sale of counterfeit products, production, sale and supply of counterfeit drugs, production and sale of food that does not meet safety standards, production and sale of poisonous and harmful food, smuggling of common goods and articles, bribery of non-state employees, money laundering, contract fraud, etc., and deeply explained In the afternoon, Prof. Chen gave an in-depth lecture on the understanding and application of common crimes, such as smuggling of common goods and articles, smuggling of common goods and articles, bribery of non-state employees, money laundering, contract fraud, etc. He deeply explained the protection of legal interests of each crime, the act of implementation, the subjective elements, the standard of attempt, the relationship between this crime and the other crime, the number of crimes, and the statute of limitations.
In the afternoon session, Prof. Chen focused on the key property crimes such as robbery, fraud, theft, embezzlement and misappropriation of office, extortion, as well as the high crimes of embezzlement, misappropriation of public funds, bribery, bribery with influence, abuse of authority, and negligence, etc. He gave a detailed explanation of these crimes. Professor Chen Hongbing emphasized that the relationship between many property crimes is not exclusive, but rather hierarchical and inclusive; although embezzlement and bribery belong to the same type of office crimes, the legal interests and the nature of the crimes protected by them are fundamentally different; the nature of state employees should abandon the identity theory and adhere to the duty theory. The essence of national staff should abandon the status theory and stick to the duty theory.
In the 7-hour lecture, Prof. Chen Hongbing followed the instructions and explained the theories of criminal composition, joint criminality, error of knowledge and neutral assistance in the general principles of criminal law, and guided everyone to choose the appropriate solution in practice by combining the interpretation theory of criminal law. With his humorous and interesting teaching style, Prof. Chen Hongbing shared the profound and profound criminal law expertise in a limited time and with a close integration of theory and practice.
Finally, Prof. Chen Hongbing gave advice and expectations to the audience. He hoped that legal practitioners should continuously improve their professionalism and business level, closely follow the legal changes and judicial practice, handle all kinds of crime cases in a more accurate, fair and legal way, and maintain social justice and stability of the legal system.
