At the beginning of the meeting, Ouyang Benqi, Dean of Southeast University College of Law, delivered a speech for the meeting. Ma Rong, a first-class senior judge of Jiangsu High People's Court, suggested that law is a practical subject, so it is important to have a solid theoretical foundation as well as practical skills during study. He encouraged students to practice and practice more often. Huang Yongzhong, Director of Rule of Law Research Department of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Justice, from his long experience in rule of law work, proposed that under the background of building a rule of law China, promoted by the five guarantees of organization guarantee, policy guarantee, rule of law guarantee, service guarantee and public opinion guarantee, the country needs more rule of law talents at present, and students should be more open-minded in finding jobs. He suggested that no matter in which law position, the knowledge needed is very broad, students should be good at learning more knowledge that can be obtained through the platform of Southeast University and combining their interests. Yang Jigao, Director of the Organization and Personnel Department of Jiangsu Provincial People's Procuratorate, said that this meeting is a platform to know more about Southeast University Law School and an opportunity to discover more talents. Yang Jigao made three suggestions: first, to have a complex professional background, law students need to master more interdepartmental and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills; second, to be a good research and analysis type of talent, to analyze and summarize the work in depth, learn to find the law; third, to have a certain writing ability and certain language expression ability.
Xie Xinzhu, deputy director of the Political Department of Nanjing Maritime Court, encouraged students to focus on two major aspects of the rule of law. One is foreign-related rule of law, in the integrated promotion of domestic rule of law and foreign-related rule of law requirements, foreign-related rule of law is the focus of the current rule of law work, the setting of the free trade zone also means that the demand for foreign-related rule of law talent increased; the second is the rule of law of the sea, Jiangsu is a large marine province, the gross marine product occupies the forefront of the country and even the world, which also means that the demand for marine rule of law talent is great. He encouraged the students to try and discover more in their career choices.
Wang Yu, director of the political department of Nanjing Yuhuatai District People's Court, said that from the perspective of the judges of the grassroots courts, judges bear the responsibility of determining points and stopping disputes, punishing evil and promoting good, although it is true that pressure exists, but the ordinary and meaningful feelings of the work process is irreplaceable and the value of self-fulfillment is indelible. She hoped that the students would continue to accumulate and exercise at the grassroots level, and become people who are familiar with laws and regulations, understand human affairs, and insist on having the law in their hearts. At the same time, she said that Yuhua People's Court and Southeast University Law School have established a good cooperation relationship, and welcome all students to come to the internship practice.
Li Jian, secretary of the Party Committee of Jinzhi JSC, suggested that political and legal work is a professional work with strong politics, a practical work with strong theory and a theoretical work with strong practice. The work will encounter a lot of practical problems, and practice is ahead of its time, while academic research is disconnected from practice.
